Ludwig Reiter is moving to Schloss Süssenbrunn
The shoe manufactory Ludwig Reiter, founded in Vienna in 1885, acquired the castle Schloss Süssenbrunn. Until 2010 the whole production, storage and office spaces will be relocated to the castle.
The estate of Süssenbrunn originates in a medieval knight’s estate and was redesigned into a noble renaissance castle in the 16th century, as it can be seen on the copper engraving by G.M. Vischer of 1672. In the 19th century it was renovated according to the early romantic architectural style of 1830 and since then it served as an agricultural manor.
The Ludwig Reiter shoe manufactory, which was founded in 1885 in Vienna, has been seeking a location since quite a while. The goal was to find a property, which gives appropriate space for its workshops and conveys the spirit of the enterprise. For this purpose the most picturesque setting of Schloss Süssenbrunn is the ideal habitat. Now the challenge consists in maintaining the architectural charm of an old estate, yet adorning it with an adequate function of today’s standards which is a perfect example of the company´s legacy : the FUTURE OF TRADITION. The old buildings will be carefully renovated with just a few connective and technical amendments. The vast park landscape of the estate will remain and contribute significantly to a good working and inspirational environment.
The relocation is planned for mid of the year 2010. The official opening will be announced on this website.
