Elegant men's shoes with these shapes were made known as "brogues" by the legendary Duke of Windsor. Hungarian shoemakers transferred this to a basic derby shape and equipped it with a "Viennese edge". This is how this model came to Vienna from Budapest. Since then it has been referred to as "Budapester" throughout the German-speaking world.
